America’s alternative pop sensation is back with her highly anticipated comeback.

Making her debut at the iconic Sydney Opera House, American singer-songwriter and alt-pop sensation Mitski is back in Australia after a seven-year hiatus. She will be showcasing her cherished, deeply moving songs along with her eagerly awaited new album, Nothing’s About to Happen to Me, during four spectacular nights at Vivid LIVE.

A unique live artist celebrated for her captivating stage presence, Mitski, who was born in Japan, gained recognition with her third album, the raw and unrestrained Bury Me At Makeout Creek, released in 2014. She achieved worldwide fame with her 2016 album, Puberty 2, a powerful indie rock record that includes the standout tracks “Your Best American Girl” and “I Bet On Losing Dogs.” In 2018, her critically acclaimed Be the Cowboy showcased her use of synths in art-pop hits like “Nobody” and “Washing Machine Heart.” Her 2022 release, Laurel Hell, featuring the striking lead single “Working for the Knife,” marked her first entry into the US top 10. In 2023, Mitski made a comeback with the radiant steel-pedal pop of The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We, which includes the globally successful track “My Love Mine All Mine,” nearing two billion streams.

Bringing together many of her key collaborators, the new song Nothing’s About to Happen to Me – which was preceded by the energetic rocker “Where’s My Phone?” – marks an exciting new phase for Mitski, an artist who continues to shine as one of the most dynamic and brilliant stars in music.
