Commissioned for the 50th anniversary of the Perth International Arts Festival in 2003, the installation features 51 slender, haunting sculptures, each derived from laser scans of Menzies residents. Spread across 10 square kilometres of the lake’s surface, the figures appear to rise from the salt crust itself—silent, solitary and mesmerising in the shifting light.
